To Walk As a Lion

"The wicked man flees, though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion."
- Proverbs 28:1 (NIV)
His mane matches the tall sun-scorched grass, where he lays hidden. He has no worries- no fear. Then he stands up, you can see each muscle move with every stretch he makes. He is strong and powerful. As he yawns, you notice his teeth; they are as sharp as a double-edged sword. Oh and when he roars it is like waves of thunder that make buildings tremble. He is fierce, mighty among beasts. He retreats before nothing. He is the king of his habitat. This is the lion (Panthera leo).
Imagine if all Christians were like lions...we would be a force to reckon with! Instead, many of us allow fear to turn us onto paralytics, which causes us to run away from the things of God like the wicked man in Proverbs runs away, when no one is even chasing after him. Remember that we serve Jesus: The Lion of Judah; The King of Kings, and if made in His image, are not we lions as well? Try walking as a lion does- fearless, bold and courageous- retreating from no one. The Word of God tells us to be all these things and much more. This is who we are. So let God use you, and allow your roar to shake the nations!
