Living Life in a Hula-Hoop: The Circle of Insanity

Shoop, shoop...shoop, shoop.
Do you hear that sound?
The sound a hula-hoop makes as it goes round and round.
The sound of life passing by, while whirling and twirling in the same ole motion-
Being hypnotized by the enemy's schemes, ignoring the One who gently redeems.
Having a Christ-like notion, but would rather drink the devil's potion.

Shoop shoop... shoop, shoop.
Do you hear that sound?
The sound a hula-hoop makes as it goes round and round.
The sound of life passing by, but never aware-
Too busy doing things no one should dare.
That same ole pattern-
The lifestyle that will snuff a person out like a lantern.

Shoop, shoop...shoop, shoop.
Do you hear that sound?
The sound a hula-hoop makes as it goes round and round.
The sound of life passing by while playing the fool-
Thinking 'yeah it's cool.'
Spinning and swirling out of control-
As the circle of insanity begins to take its toll.

Shoop, shoop...shoop, shoop.
Do you hear that sound?
The sound a hula-hoop makes as it goes round and round.
The sound of life passing by, while doing the same ole thing and expecting a change-
Not acknowledging the One who can rearrange.
Still having the nerve to be waiting on God's master plan-
Yet up and left the palm of His hand.

Shoop...sssshhhhhp
Do you hear that sound?
The sound a hula-hoop makes when it stops and drops.
The sound of new life beginning and the old one ending.
Giving everything to Jesus-
So He can cleanse us.
Back in the palm of His hand-
Never experiencing insanity again.
